Portion of Prairie Path to close in Wheaton
DuPage County has told the city of Wheaton that construction on the Illinois Prairie Path along Carlton Avenue, between Roosevelt Road and Liberty Drive, is slated to begin Monday, April 7, and continue through May.
Carlton Avenue will remain open to car traffic, but parking will be off-limits on the west side of the street during the work, according to a city alert. Drivers can use the daily fee parking in Lot 9 at Carlton and Liberty, to the west of the Wheaton Center apartment complex.
During construction, the path will be closed to pedestrian and bicycle traffic, which will be detoured using West Street (to the east) and Delles Road (to the west).
