No injuries in Monday silo fire in unincorporated Dundee

No one was hurt during a fire Monday morning in unincorporated Dundee.

The East Dundee and Countryside Fire Protection District said in a press release that they responded to a call for a structure fire just after 7 a.m. and found a fully involved silo.

Fire scanners reported the fire happened on the 14N300 block of Route 25.

Firefighters employed rural fire operations since there were no hydrants in the area and were able to bring the fire under control quickly.

Ten area fire departments responded to the mutual aid call. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
