Dining out: Tax day specials and Giordano’s $100K sweepstakes

Diners can celebrate the end of tax season with $10.40 signature cocktails in Oak Brook, have the chance to win $100K by shipping Giordano’s, play music bingo and get in an early visit with the Easter Bunny.

Tax day rewards

Whether you’re celebrating your refund or drowning your sorrows, Kona Grill, 3051 Butterfield Road, Oak Brook, is marking the end of another tax season by offering over a dozen signature cocktails for $10.40 on Tuesday, April 15. The lineup includes the Kosmopolitan, the Midtown Manhattan, the Saké Sangria and more.

Stop in from 2-6 p.m. or 9 p.m. to close to take advantage of the $3, $6 and $9 happy hour menu with bites like shrimp tacos for $3 or Kona sliders for $6.

California Pizza Kitchen is also getting in the 1040 spirit by offering $10 off $40 to new and existing CPK Rewards members April 14-17.

Pizza prize

Giordano’s has long made it easy to ship pizza across the country to friends and family hungry for a taste of Chicago, but during April they’re giving the sender a chance for their own reward.

Until April 30, every dollar spent shipping Giordano’s deep-dish pizza equals one entry into a sweepstakes that could win the sender a luxury Chicago vacation and a new Ford Bronco or $100,000 in cash.

The vacation, which appeals more to out-of-state entrants, includes first-class flights, a four-day, three-night stay in a suite at the Peninsula Hotel, Michelin-starred private-dining experiences, a $5K shopping spree on the Mag Mile, courtside seats to a Bulls game, a private suite at a Bears game, a private yacht charter on Lake Michigan and the new Bronco. Or you could just take the $100K.

Bingo!

Fat Rosie’s, 4504 W. Touhy Ave., Lincolnwood, is making taco time more fun with music bingo nights.

From 7-9 p.m. every Wednesday, guests can test their music knowledge in a game of bingo that uses songs instead of numbers. Prizes include Fat Rosie’s gift cards.

Early Easter fun

The Easter Bunny will be hopping to Alexander’s Cafe locations over the next two Saturdays for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny.

Saturday, April 12, young diners at the Elgin location (1725 N. You can grab lunch with the Easter Bunny at The Village Squire in South Elgin (480 Randall Road) from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, and in West Dundee (125 Washington St.) from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13.

On Sunday, April 13, the Easter Bunny and a facepainter will visit Atlas Chicken Shack (511 S. Third St.) and Preservation (513 S. Third St.) in Geneva. Enjoy lunch and drinks from either restaurant while the kids get their faces painted and hang with the Easter Bunny from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
