Crews repairing power lines in Glen Ellyn, drivers should avoid part of Park Boulevard
Glen Ellyn police said Tuesday afternoon that utility crews were working to repair power lines that were damaged by a garbage truck.
Police anticipate part of Park Boulevard to remain closed into the night. Drivers were advised to avoid Park between Roosevelt Road and Pershing Avenue so ComEd and other crews can do repairs.
There wasn’t a crash, Deputy Police Chief Kurt Vavra said, but the garbage truck had the hopper up and grabbed power lines. There were no injuries, he said, though crews are replacing utility poles.
Police anticipate the area will be opened up Wednesday morning.
