Protect libraries from proposed cuts
President Trump has issued an executive order to reduce funding for the Institute for Museums and Library Services. This order will impact public, school, academic and special libraries.
The funding is less than 0.003% of the annual federal budget. Services at risk include technology classes for job seekers, services for disabled people, delivery of library materials to the homebound and summer reading programs for families.
Obviously, the funding cuts will hurt many people across the country. Please contact your congressional representatives and senators, asking them to override the order, or let the president know he can rescind the order to save these services.
