Elgin man charged with DUI after early morning Bartlett crash

An Elgin man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sunday following a vehicle crash in Bartlett in which a passenger received minor injuries.

Ramon Bravo, 22, was charged with misdemeanor DUI and also issued a traffic citation for failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

Bartlett officers responded to the single-vehicle crash near the intersection of South Main Street and West Railroad Avenue at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday. A 2017 Lexus GS350 had exited the roadway, driven through landscaping and a metal fence, crossed over railroad tracks, and come to rest on the pedestrian walkway north of the tracks.

Following their investigation, police alleged that Bravo had been traveling northbound on South Main Street when he failed to properly navigate the turn onto West Railroad Avenue.

The adult passenger received medical attention at the scene.

Bravo was released pending trial and is scheduled to appear in court in Rolling Meadows on April 30.
