Chamber630 hosts second annual Champions for a Cause Nonprofit Expo

DuPage County’s regional Chamber of Commerce, Chamber630 is looking forward to hosting their second annual Champions for a Cause Nonprofit Expo on Tuesday, May 20.

This event was developed by Chamber630 leadership last year to offer local nonprofits the opportunity to gain exposure for their missions, and to help inform chamber membership and the general public about the wide variety of services available in DuPage county.

From food pantries to scuba therapy, the nonprofit organizations represented at this event address an array of needs, and offer support to a variety of community members.

It will be 5 to 7 p.m. at Hampton Inn & Suites, 1500 Opus Place, Downers Grove. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 for a couple. It is free for college students with promo code. Registration is required.

This year, the event will feature an insightful discussion with Hope’s Front Door Executive Director Janell Robinson, and Little Friends Inc. Chief Development Officer Jason Altenbern.

The main topic of discussion will be “How Nonprofits Handle Times of Uncertainty,” and other timely and relevant subjects.

“Nonprofits are amazing at adapting, innovating, and keeping their finger on the pulse of what our communities need,” said Katrina Rathjen, Chamber630 vice president. “Champions for a Cause is an event that benefits everyone by bringing our local NPOs into the spotlight.”

Nonprofits aren’t the only organizations who can benefit from this event. Consider attending “Champions for a Cause” if you are interested in:

• Seeking to learn more about services available in the community;

• Seeking networking opportunities and community engagement;

• Creating community partnerships with other organizations and businesses;

• Identifying volunteer opportunities for team-building to boost company culture;

• Identifying future sponsorship opportunities;

• Researching NPOs to support with donations;

• Are a current college student interested in learning more about nonprofits.

College students are welcome to attend this event for free with a promotional code so that they have the opportunity to: learn about careers in nonprofits; identify volunteer, internship, and job opportunities; learn more about services available in their community; and enjoy networking and increase their community engagement.

If you’re a student who would like to attend, contact Katrina at katrina@chamber630.com.
