According to a Carol Stream Fire District official, an ambulance from the village’s Station 27 was responding to an emergency call.
At about 3 p.m. the ambulance was heading east on Lies Road, and as it was clearing the intersection was struck by a white sedan traveling north on County Farm Road, the fire official said.
Two people in both the ambulance and the sedan were treated at the scene, the official said. The two firefighters were taken to Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital.
The two people in the sedan declined transport, the official said.
