Cook County court fee amnesty week continues through Friday

Those with overdue fees on moving traffic violations in Cook County have until Friday, April 18 to pay up without incurring additional collection costs.

The offer is part of an Amnesty Week program launched by Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Mariyana Spyropoulos.

“This amnesty initiative is part of a broader effort to remove financial barriers that disproportionately impact working families,” Spyropoulos said. “By waiving collection fees, we’re helping residents take meaningful steps toward resolving their cases and restoring trust in a system that should work for everyone.”

The amnesty offer does not include parking tickets or red light violations. Amnesty Week has not been offered since 2019.

The clerk’s office will accept full and partial payments made by cash, check, money order, or credit cards. Payments can be made at the Daley Center in Chicago and all five suburban Cook County courthouses, including in Rolling Meadows. You can also pay by phone at (312) 603-5030.
