Freedom Walk to raise eating disorder awareness, fund treatment scholarships

The Kirsten Haglund Foundation, in partnership with SunCloud Health, will host the 2025 Chicagoland Freedom Walk on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at Castaldo Park, 3024 71st St. in Woodridge.

The event aims to raise awareness around eating disorders, inspire hope, and provide critical funding for scholarships.

This family-friendly community walk will feature inspirational speakers with lived experience, a yoga warm-up, a silent auction, and interactive sponsor booths providing resources and education on eating disorder recovery.

The event highlights the message that “Recovery is Possible,” while fundraising to provide scholarships that enable individuals to access lifesaving care.

The Freedom Walk represents a movement — one that brings together survivors, supporters, and advocates who believe in the power of healing.

The Kirsten Haglund Foundation is grateful to partner with SunCloud Health and the many sponsors helping break the stigma and provide tangible support for those battling eating disorders.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Kirsten Haglund Foundation scholarship program, which has already helped hundreds of individuals afford access to professional treatment and support. All community members are invited to attend and walk in honor of recovery, hope, and freedom.
