PM Music Center to host grand opening of Mariachi Mercado with a celebration of music, culture
PM Music Center recently announced the grand opening of Mariachi Mercado, a new in-store showroom dedicated to the rich heritage and vibrant tradition of mariachi music.
The grand opening celebration, which is free and open to the public, will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the PM Music Center, 4411 Fox Valley Center Drive in Aurora.
Mariachi Mercado is designed to serve as a hub for Chicago area mariachi musicians, educators, and enthusiasts — offering a curated selection of high-quality instruments, accessories, and repair services tailored to the unique needs of mariachi performers.
The celebration will be featuring live performance by Mariachi Flor de Primavera; tacos from the Tacomotora food truck; and fun family-friendly activities and crafts.
The showroom that features mariachi instruments such as the guitarrón, vihuela, mariachi trumpet, and violin.
“Mariachi Mercado isn’t just a showroom — it’s our way to support our local mariachi community,” said Harley Figueroa, director of scholastic programs at PM Music Center. “We’re creating a space where mariachi music is not only celebrated but also supported at every level, from student musicians to professional performers.”
