St. Charles house fire causes $15,000 in damage
The cause of a Saturday evening fire that left a St. Charles house uninhabitable remained under investigation Sunday.
Firefighters received the call to the single-family home on the 500 block of South 16th Street at about 6:54 p.m.
The homeowner wasn’t home at the time, and a passerby called 911. The first fire crews to arrive extinguished the fire within minutes, but damage to the property and contents was estimated at $15,000.
No civilians or firefighters were injured.
