Construction season is in full swing across the region. Here are some key projects to know about.

Cook County

• Patching pavement on Lake-Cook Road between: Route 53 and Arlington Heights Road; Hastings Drive and Milwaukee Avenue; and at Wilmot Road in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Palatine and Wheeling.

• Resurfacing on Shoe Factory Road between Beverly and Higgins roads in Hoffman Estates, South Barrington and Streamwood.

• Rehabbing pavement on Landmeier Road between Arlington Heights and Busse roads, and from Cambridge Drive to Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village.

• Resurfacing on Busse Highway, from Miner Street in Des Plaines to Touhy Avenue.

• Repairing pavement on Ela Road from Central Road to Dundee Road in Inverness and Hoffman Estates.

• Patching pavement on Plum Grove Road between Nerge and Higgins roads in Elk Grove Village, Roselle and Schaumburg.

• Rehabbing pavement on Hintz Road between Old Buffalo Grove and Schoenbeck roads in Wheeling and Prospect Heights.

• Rehabbing pavement on Wheeling Road between Camp McDonald and Palatine roads in Prospect Heights and Wheeling.

• Replacing the Meacham Road bridge over the West Branch of Salt Creek in Schaumburg.

• Repairing the bridge carrying Oakton Street over the Des Plaines River, in Des Plaines.

• Reconstructing York Road in Bensenville and Elk Grove Village as part of the I-490 project. Also, related improvements to Green Street and Franklin Avenue between York and Runge Street.

• Improving County Line Road, Lake Street, North Avenue and Northwest Avenue in conjunction with a future I-294 exit ramp in Northlake and Elmhurst.

DuPage County

• Resurfacing Irving Park Road from Roselle Road to Baker Drive.

• Resurfacing Route 59 from North Avenue to Batavia Road.

• Reconstructing the Geneva Road Bridge over the West Branch of the DuPage River.

• Rebuilding the Warrenville Road Bridge over the East Branch of the DuPage River.

• Repairing pavement on Wood Dale Road from Lake Street to Irving Park Road.

• Repairing pavement on Gary Avenue from Jewell Road to North Avenue.

• Repairing pavement on Eola Road from New York Street to Interstate 88.

• Repairing pavement on Glen Ellyn Road from North Avenue to Fullerton Avenue.

• Repairing pavement on Naperville Road from Butterfield Road to Interstate 88.

• Repairing pavement on Warrenville Road from Winfield Road to Naperville Road

Kane

• Resurfacing on Route 20 from east of Grace Street to west of Shales Parkway/Bluff City Boulevard.

• Continuing work on Phase 2 of the Hughes Road bridge repair project over Blackberry Creek.

• Constructing the Bunker Road extension.

• Advanced tree removal on Randall Road at Route 72.

• Replacing recessed reflective pavement markers countywide.

• Repairing joints on the Randall Road bridge over Metra, Union Pacific Railroad, and Tyler Creek.

• Repairing Allen Road culvert at Glen Oaks.

• Reconstructing Kirk Road at Douglas Road (work begins this fall).

Lake

• Reconstructing Arlington Heights Road between Route 83 and Lake-Cook Road

• Resurfacing Butterfield Road between routes 137 and 176.

• Improving the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Washington Street.

• Improving the intersection of Route 59 and Grand Avenue.

•Realigning Dowell Road to join Darrell Road with a roundabout; adding a roundabout at Fisher and Darrell roads.

• Other resurfacing work at: Deep Lake Road from Route 132 to Route 173; Old McHenry Road from Cuba Road to south of Quentin Road; and Prairie Road from Aptakisic Road to Route 22.

McHenry County

• Reconstructing Randall Road North from Ackman Road to Acorn Lane/Polaris Drive.

• Resurfacing Route 176 from Hickory Drive to Mistwood Lane.

• Replacing bridges at Flat Iron, Hunter and White Oaks roads.

• Replacing Vanderkarr Road Township bridge deck.

• Upgrading Virginia Road intersections with new signals in the Crystal Lake area.

• Resurfacing on: Kishwaukee Valley Road, between routes 23 and 14; Millstream Road between Garden Valley and Route 176; Garden Valley Road between Millstream and North Union; North Union Road between Garden Valley and Route 176; and Marengo Road between South Union and Main Street.
