DuPage County, homeless advocates to host veterans event

DuPage County’s Veterans Assistance Commission will join with several community groups to host an event Tuesday to connect landlords with veteran housing programs.

The Landlord Engagement and Resource Fair will run from 9 to 11 a.m. at American Legion Post 76, 570 Gary Ave., in Carol Stream. The fair is part of a statewide 100-Day Challenge to house veterans experiencing homelessness.

Representatives from federal and local organizations will be available to explain their programs and answer questions.

Partners include: Wheaton-based Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans; Hines VA; DuPage’s Continuum of Care; Catholic Charities; Diocese of Joliet; and DuPage Housing Authority along with the DuPage Homeless Veterans Taskforce, DuPage Pads and other local service providers.
