Northern Illinois Food Bank’s 12th annual Fight Hunger Run/Walk returns May 3 to Cantigny Park

Northern Illinois Food Bank’s largest annual awareness and fundraising event, the 12th annual Fight Hunger 10K, 5K, or 1-mile run/walk with post-race festival will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 3, at Cantigny Park in Wheaton.

This fun-filled event, presented by Aldi, offers three race routes and a vibrant festival atmosphere. Not only is it an amazing day for the participants, but the funds raised will be matched by US Foods, which will double the impact.

Over 1,600 runners, food trucks, sponsors, participants, volunteers and spectators will make this year’s event the best yet!

Courses are stroller-friendly, and welcome runners and walkers to enjoy the event at any pace they choose and stay for the post-race festival with Kids Zone.

Last year, Northern Illinois Food Bank’s network of 900 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, senior sites and feeding programs, provided 90 million meals throughout its 13-county service area.

Proceeds from the annual Fight Hunger Run/Walk will benefit programs and resources that neighbors facing hunger throughout Northern Illinois.
