Ed Department is a good place to start

Of all of President Trump’s actions, the one that would seem to be the least controversial is the proposal to eliminate 1he Department of Education. However, there appears to be substantial opposition from many liberals.

I am a big supporter of public education. My brother and I both graduated from public elementary and public high school public schools and my brother taught in a public high school for 30 years. That being said, I see very little if anything the Department of Education has done to improve public school performance and the decline in student grade scores would appear to support this conclusion.

Therefore, I see no logical reason to continue a federal department that does not appear to further the purpose for which it was created. There should be no argument regarding the need to reduce government spending and the elimination of the Department of Education is the logical place to start.
