Residents displaced by Lindenhurst house fire
Residents were displaced following a house fire in Lindenhurst on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 12:40 p.m. on the 0 block of Laurel Drive, according to Lake Villa Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Jay Vance. Firefighters arrived on scene and found an active fire that appeared to have started outside the home before making its way inside. They were able to extinguish the fire in roughly 10 minutes, and there were no injuries reported.
The home experienced an estimated $100,000 in damage, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, but it may have been caused by a lightning strike, according to Battalion Chief Vance.
