Vehicle hits building in West Chicago, causing fire

A vehicle hit a building in West Chicago early Wednesday afternoon, causing a fire.

No one was injured, according to the West Chicago Fire Protection District.

The district said on Facebook that a passenger car veered off a road and hit a tree, then a semitractor-trailer truck. The truck hit a building in the 1700 block of Harvester Road. The truck caught fire, but the building did not.

The building sustained minor damage, according to the fire district. It is closed due to that damage and disconnection of utilities.
