Pig roast in Hawthorn Woods:

St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 24500 N. Old McHenry Road, holds its 19th annual pig roast Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. In addition to the food, the event will feature a performance by the St. Matthew's Praise Band with Kalyssa Ziemann on the drums. Ziemann, an 8-year-old student at St. Matthew School, will handle percussion for two songs, one of which includes a drum solo. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 through 10. Teens arrested in Lakemoor burglary:

Four teens face residential burglary charges after breaking into a camping trailer early Sunday morning and stealing alcohol, Lakemoor police said. Charged with felony burglary are: Jared Fox, 18, of the 600 block of Columbus Drive, McHenry; Shawn Smith, 19, of the 300 block of Highland Drive, Lakemoor; Aric Villasana, 19, of the 3000 block of Westminster Drive, Lakemoor; and Nicholas O'Connell, 19, of the 502 block of N. Hill Road, McHenry, interim police chief Rick Iverson said Thursday. If found guilty, each could face up to seven years in prison. Amber Heiser, 19, of the 600 block of Columbus, McHenry, was charged with theft for being in possession of some of the alcohol. Police said Fox, Smith, O'Connell and Villasana left an alcohol-fueled party nearby and found the camper in an industrial complex. They broke into the vehicle, demolished the inside and stole alcohol, Iverson said. A witness called 911 and provided a description that police matched to Fox. During questioning, he admitted to breaking into the camper, then turned in the others, police said.

Used book sale in Lake Villa:

The Friends of the Lake Villa District Library will host its annual used book sale through Saturday, Aug. 15, at the library, 1001 E. Grand Ave. The sale will open to the public at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, and will run until 5 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 15, there will be a $5 per grocery paper bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon, and a $1 per plastic bag sale from noon to 4 p.m.
