Kirk has solutions, Seals has hot air

Dan Seals recently made the funniest statement that I've heard from a politician this year. Speaking about a House Republican demonstration calling on Nancy Pelosi to allow a vote on drilling off the coast of Florida, Seals said, "Today's grandstanding on the floor of Congress was just another example of how Washington has been heavy on rhetoric, and short on solutions." With lines like that Seals should looking for work as a comedian instead of a Congressman.

Seals is the very definition of "heavy on rhetoric and short on solutions." His opponent, Mark Kirk, proposed plans to increase commuting among workers and boost the production of alternative energy, but Seals does his best impression of a parrot and repeats "more alternative energy" over and over without any plan to bring it about. The only concrete action Seals has taken on energy prices was his failed gas giveaway stunt that bogged down traffic for hours and netted his campaign a $2,200 fine from the Lincolnshire police. Unless Seals has way more money than his FEC report shows, his stunt doesn't look like much of a solution for the country.

I pride myself in giving the devil his due, so I will say that Seals is indeed correct that we need to elect representatives who provide solutions, not just rhetoric and hot air. That's why I'm voting for Mark Kirk.
