Benjamin to coach Judson baseball

Judson University announced the hiring of Rich Benjamin as baseball coach Monday.

This is the first head coaching job for Benjamin, who spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Olivet Nazarene University.

He also spent two years as an assistant coach at Martin Methodist University in Tennessee, the school he graduated from in 2004 with a degree in English. Benjamin recently completed his Master's of Organizational Leadership at Olivet.

"I am honored to be named the head baseball coach at Judson," Benjamin said in a press release. "I have been praying for a place to go to become a head coach. I am looking forward to moving the Judson baseball program to the next level."

Benjamin inherits a program that has finished in the top half of the CCAC the last four seasons with a record of .500 or better
