Temporary closure of Toft Street in Antioch

Toft Street in Antioch will be closed to traffic for the weekend beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, June 19 to make room for the annual Summer Arts and Crafts Faire. The event will be held on Toft Street and in the north two sections of the municipal lot. It has been relocated to this site at the request of the village. This allows Orchard Street to remain open for residential and emergency traffic. The event draws more than 10,000 people into downtown Antioch, according to Chamber of Commerce Director Barbara Porch. The parking lot behind the west side of Main Street, and the south aisle of the municipal lot behind Hannah's Home Accents and the Limerick, also will remain open to traffic. Signs will be posted throughout downtown encouraging shoppers to park on the east side. All crafters will be parking at Antioch Elementary School. For more details call Tom Laures at the village of Antioch, (847) 395-6342.
