Four teams sweep MSL series
Sweeps proved particularly popular during Mid-Suburban League girls bowling action Thursday at AMF Lanes in Rolling Meadows.
Elk Grove, Prospect, Rolling Meadows and Schaumburg all earned 9-0 victories in their dual meets.
Individually, a pair of MSL bowlers put up some eye-popping numbers on the scoreboard.
Brittany Meyer of Rolling Meadows led all competitors with a 668 series that included a high game of 259. Meyer helped the Mustangs beat Fremd 9-0 with a team pinfall of 2.873.
Conant's Brianna Carroo fired a 268 game en route to a 643 series, as the Cougars topped Palatine 7-2 with a 2,767 pinfall.
In Elk Grove's 9-0 win over Barrington, Tedra Tado shot a 586 series, and Caerline Williams posted a 207 game.
Prospect blanked Buffalo Grove 9-0 as Rachel Oehlert had a high game of 232 to offset Mariah McVay's 583 series for the Bison.
Schaumburg's Jodi Gawlik led the way with a 653 series and 229 game as the Saxons blanked Hoffman Estates 9-0.
Rounding out the results, Wheeling knocked off Hersey 7-2 as the Wildcats' Kim Spasari had the high series (598) and high game (223).
