Warriors nab soccer victory

Tyler Beachler had 2 goals and 2 assists Monday as the Westminster Christian boys soccer team knocked off Indian Creek 4-0 in a nonconference game.

Ryan Beachler and Steven Hoeflich also scored a goal each for the Warriors (6-6-3). Jeff Marshall had 2 assists to contribute to the victory.

Ethan Flickinger and Ian Dutcher each had 5 saves in the net for Westminster.

Boys soccer

Rockford Christian Life 8, Elgin Academy 1: The Hilltoppers (1-8-1) fell to Rockford Christian Life in nonconference play. Jackson Rudolph managed to score for EA after being released to play again. Rudolph scored off a penalty kick during the short time he was on the field. Aaron Thomas was in goal with 12 saves while Patrick Martinak came in during the second half collecting 7 saves for the Hilltoppers.

St. Charles East 3, South Elgin 2: In the Upstate Eight matchup the Storm (3-7, 0-3) fell short against St. Charles East. In the first half Bart Mazurek scored for South Elgin off an assist from James Hollander. In the second half, Hollander scored on an assist from teammate Jake Shibona. Luis Abonce was in net for the Storm collecting 8 saves.

Girls volleyball

Fox Valley Lutheran Academy d. Luther South: The Falcons (5-5) defeated Luther South 25-23, 25-10. Sarah Mounger led FVLA with 6 aces and 4 kills. Alicia Woock had 4 aces and 2 kills while teammates Katie Mazur and Tricia Parker each added a pair of kills.

St. Edward d. Aurora Central Catholic: The Green Wave (7-12, 4-4) defeated the Chargers 25-18, 25-19 in Suburban Catholic Conference action. St. Edward was led by Katie Yohn, who collected 9 assists and 7 kills. Kristen Haggenjos also added 7 kills with 9 digs. Margie Haggenjos had 4 digs with 5 aces to help keep St. Edward ahead.
