Get a Taste of Summer in Antioch
Antioch's annual Taste of Summer runs Thursday, July 16, through Sunday, July 19, and will feature food, carnival rides and entertainment for the whole family.
The festival, held in downtown Antioch, kicks off with sidewalk sales at 10 a.m. Thursday. Local businesses will offer bargains and artisans will sell their creations in craft booths.
Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy specialties prepared by local restaurants. Food booths from businesses such as Dairy Queen, the Brat Shop, Grande Lettys Mexican Grill and more will open at 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon Saturday and Sunday. Guests can dine in the sunshine while listening to entertainment acts perform in the Brook Bandshell.
This year's entertainment includes larger acts BBI, the Suburban Cowboys, Hi Infidelity and Bella Cain. Throughout the weekend, there will also be smaller performances by bands such as The Sure, Shadows of Night and the Crook County Blues Band.
At the Taste's carnival, there will be new rides and more wristband options than previous years, organizers said. Daily wristbands will be valid for one day at the carnival, while Mega wristbands will be valid for all four days.
Besides musical acts and carnival rides, there will also be family-friendly activities such as free face-painting and balloons created by balloon artists from the Big Balloon Tycoon.
Guests can print a free carnival ride ticket at AntiochChamber.org. An individual can get one free ride per day of the Taste.
