Candidate must show he's ready for senate

Martin McLaughlin has a high position in the Barrington Hills Village Board. Barrington Hills is currently a successful village, yet many members of the village believe he is not fit for the job of state senator. Many believe he does not have enough public leadership experience.

It is important to have trust in the person we choose to represent us. When people who know McLaughlin personally do not trust him, it makes it hard for people who don't know him personally to trust him.

His intentions are to unite the community, but he has shown no signs of unification. I think Mr. McLaughlin does not have any advantages in this election so far. If he is really serious about the election, he will have to prove that he is fit in any form he can, and he will have to increase his access to the media and convey the message of his campaign on a greater scale.
