Woman, 2 children killed when struck by truck
CHICAGO (AP) - A woman and two children were killed in Chicago when they were struck by a semi-trailer truck in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
The victims, who haven't been identified late Friday, included a 30-year-old woman, and two young children. The children's ages and gender weren't immediately revealed.
Authorities indicated the three victims were crossing a street when they were struck by the truck. The driver, who wasn't immediately identified, drove a block from the accident scene before stopping.
The children were taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they later died.
Authorities say the woman was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
