Suburban malls mark third annual National Outlet Shopping Day
Malls in Aurora and Gurnee are gearing up for National Outlet Shopping Day June 8-9 with hundreds of deals on sought-after brands, limited-time giveaways and unique experiences.
Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora and Gurnee Mills are among more than 90 Simon Premium Outlets and The Mills properties throughout the United States and Canada commemorating National Outlet Shopping Day 2024.
National Outlet Shopping Day — which debuted in 2022 — has attracted millions of shoppers to Simon centers nationwide. This year’s third annual event is shaping up to be even bigger, company officials said.
“We are ecstatic for this year’s National Outlet Shopping Day. In addition to unbelievable retailer savings, we’ve curated a fun-filled weekend complete with VIP events and in-store activities,” said Kelsey Castrejon, director of marketing and business development for Gurnee Mills.
More than 50 Gurnee Mills retailers, including Aeropostale, Charlotte Russe, Crocs, Finish Line, Guess Factory, and Polo Ralph Lauren, are offering savings Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9, at 6170 W. Grand Ave. Deals and on-site events include:
• Marcus Theatres: meet the mascot and sampling
• Marta’s Caricatures: gift with purchase
• Mrs. Fields/TCBY: tie-dye cookie samples and gift with purchase
• Nike Clearance Center: gift with purchase
• Sarah Ratliff: tie-dye craft table
• SD Handmade Soaps: soap sampling
• Starbucks: tie-dye specialty drink
• Under Armour: gift with purchase
More than 90 Chicago Premium Outlets retailers, including Adidas, Brooks Brothers, Gap Factory, Kate Spade New York, Michael Kors Outlet, Nike Factory Store, Polo Ralph Lauren, Pottery Barn Outlet, Tommy Hilfiger, and Under Armour, are offering savings that same weekend at 1650 Premium Outlet Blvd., in Aurora.
The weekend will include “live entertainment and family-friendly experiences,” said Marissa Persico, Chicago Premium Outlets director of marketing and business development.
Deals include:
• Coach Outlet, up to 70% off new products and a gift of fragrance with every purchase; Johnston Murphy, buy two pairs of men’s shoes and get a third 50% off; Le Creuset, 35% off Bamboo and Provence; and TUMI offering complimentary monogramming with purchase.
• Live music: 1-4 p.m., Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9
• Yard games and cotton candy treats
• Free National Outlet Shopping Day tote bags (while supplies last)
• Selfie stations, food trucks, and more.
