No injuries reported after fire at Grayslake warehouse

Employees at a Grayslake warehouse were safely evacuated after a fire started there Monday afternoon, officials said.

Grayslake Fire District responded to TVH Parts Company on the 90th block of S Route 83 at 12:29 p.m. after reports of heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building, according to a district news release.

Firefighters found heavy smoke in the large warehouse, and they were able to tame it within 30 minutes. Crews checked for any fire extension, evacuated smoke and monitored inside air conditions to ensure employees could safely return, the release said.

There were no injuries to employees or firefighters, according to the release, and there is not yet an estimate of the damage.

The fire remains under investigation.
