Golfers invited to free Ping professional fitting at Heritage Oaks Golf Club in Northbrook

Golfers interested in getting professionally fitted for clubs can do so at no cost at Heritage Oaks Golf Club in Northbrook.

Master fitters from Ping Golf will be onsite at the Heritage Oaks’ practice range by appointment from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, through Sunday, June 30.

The master fitters are based at the company’s headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Appointments are booked in one-hour sessions designed to determine the ideal combination of custom-built clubs to each golfer’s precise specifications.

Golfers of all levels greatly benefit from equipment that is properly fit to their needs, said John Billiter, head golf professional for the Northbrook Park District.

“The fitters from Ping have years of experience working with players of all skill levels, from beginners to professionals. Regardless of skill, properly fit equipment can help players perform better and play at their best,” Billiter said.

This spring, Billiter was among the winners of the 2023 Ping Power Fitter award, which is given to "recognize custom fitters who distinguish themselves by elevating the custom-fitting experience and demonstrating how properly fit clubs translate to better and measurable results on the course," according to Ping.

Fittings will be conducted primarily at the practice range using Trackman launch monitor technology to gather performance data with various club. Golfers will also have the opportunity to test putters or wedges at the short game practice area.

Golfers can choose which club types to be fitted for, including drivers, fairway woods, hybrid crossovers, irons and wedges.

After the fitting, customers will receive a summary of their personalized specs, and Billiter and other Heritage Oaks staff will be onsite to assist with any orders and purchasing. For more information and to register for a free fitting, please visit nbparks.co/pingfitting2024.
