The stars are out in Glenview

Kohl Children’s Museum’s Starry Night Soirée promises an engaging evening of creativity – for a great cause

On Friday, June 28, the Kohl Children’s Museum Board of Trustees welcomes luminaries from Glenview and throughout Chicago’s North Shore to step into the world of Vincent van Gogh’s iconic paintings at the museum during the Starry Night Soirée.

The fundraiser promises to be a unique and one-of-a-kind evening of art and imagination commemorating the timeless beauty of Van Gogh’s masterpieces, including Starry Night and several others. The Soirée is not just a fundraiser; it is a celebration of community, originality, playfulness and childhood.

President and CEO Mike Delfini was thrilled to host the exhibit for the children and families who learn at the museum, and commented: “At Kohl Children’s Museum, we know that art is crucial in early education. It fosters creativity, critical thinking and emotional expression that help children develop fine motor skills, spatial awareness and cultural appreciation.”

At the event, adult guests will be able to unleash their own creativity with hands-on art stations, enjoy live music by the Ron Burgundy’s, indulge in fine dining by Blue Plate Catering, and revel in imaginative décor inspired by the colors of Van Gogh’s palette including sunflowers and irises.

Presenting sponsors include an anonymous friend and ITW, with funds raised supporting museum programs that create learning experiences that spark imagination and curiosity for more than 300,000 who visit annually.
