Praise for women's work

As we celebrate women this month, I just have to say that I'm continually edified when reading about the many women who volunteer their time and energy to social service projects. Looking at photos of many events, I see it's mostly women who do these things. Possibly they have more available time than most men; nonetheless there must be something about the female character that inspires so many of them to put forth extra effort for the benefit of others. This also is seen as they help out at our schools and churches. And it's true in simpler ways when they decorate homes and workplaces for the various holidays.

Thank you, ladies … you are the gentle souls who make the world more beautiful for the rest of us.
