Swedish children's choir welcomes new singers at open rehearsal on Oct. 13

Children, ages 4-17, are welcome to join the Swedish American Children's Choir, the largest choir of its kind in the Midwest.

The choir, now in its 25th season, has performed a numerous local venues and festivals as well as completed 13 performance tours outside of Illinois.

They have been on WGN and are yearly performers for Swedish Days in Geneva.

Prior singing experience or knowledge of the Swedish language is not necessary.

The choir sings in English and Swedish as well as learns Scandinavian folk dances. You do not need a Scandinavian heritage.

The choir will be accepting new singers at an open rehearsal for its Fall/Lucia season on Friday, Oct. 13. It will be age 4 to first grade at 4:15 p.m. and second grade and up at 4:45 p.m.
