How to apply for Wheaton's senior assistance program

Wheaton's Commission on Aging is offering monthly financial assistance to eligible seniors.

The city is taking applications for the 2024 Senior Assistance Program through Sept. 22.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 65 years old and their annual household income must not exceed $32,050. Seniors also must be a current resident of Wheaton for at least the last three consecutive years; reside in their home for nine-plus months of the year; and agree to an in-person interview at the home.

Seniors who receive Section 8 or DuPage Housing Authority assistance are not eligible to apply for the city program.

Applications are available at wheaton.il.us. Completed forms and supporting documents can be sent to the City of Wheaton, ATTN: Carly Johns, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, IL 60187.
