Bartlett police arrest boy in connection to several burglaries to vehicles

Bartlett police Saturday arrested a male juvenile in connection with several thefts from vehicles in the village.

The boy is charged with criminal damage to state supported property, possession of cannabis over 30 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of theft, He also was cited under village ordinance for prohibited possession of tobacco products.

According to police, a witness reported a male attempting to enter parked vehicles at about 5:50 a.m. Saturday. At approximately 6:20 a.m., officers located a male juvenile matching the description provided by the witness.

Following an investigation, police alleged that the juvenile possessed stolen items from multiple vehicles, drug paraphernalia, more than 30 grams of cannabis and tobacco products. They further reported that the juvenile had damaged an interview room at the police department.

The boy was petitioned to Cook County juvenile court and then released to his parents.
