Hear operatic arias, classics at Barrington's White House

Barrington's White House welcomes Lyric Opera Ryan Center mezzo soprano Katherine Beck at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13.

Enjoy a collection of operatic arias and classic American songs live from the third floor ballroom of Barrington's White House or virtually from the comfort of your own home.

Known for her warmth, flexibility, honesty and flair in works by Handel, Rossini, Mozart and more, Beck will delight audiences with her "balmy-voiced mezzo soprano," as described by The Boston Globe. Alongside pianist Chris Reynolds, she will perform a collection of operatic arias and classic American songs.

Both Beck and Reynolds are members of the Lyric Opera's Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center.

Originally from the green hills of Bennington, Vermont, Beck is establishing herself as a force in the opera, concert and chamber music realms across the United States. She is a winner of the prestigious George London Foundation Award, and has sung on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera as a semifinalist in the Met Opera National Council Competition as of March 2020.

She made her debut at the Santa Fe Opera in the summer of 2019 as Karolka in David Alden's award-winning staging of "Jenufa." She also covered Emily D'Angelo as Dorabella in "Cosi fan tutte."

Tickets for this event are $20. Students can register for a free ticket with the purchase of a paid general admission ticket. Tickets for all cultural spring events can be purchased at barringtonswhitehouse.com/events.
