Cadillac Ranch reopening as 'new country' music venue
The former Cadillac Ranch in Bartlett will stick to its country roots when it reopens this spring, but the venue will focus on “new” country and live music rather than the genre's older hits and line dancing.
“There's a whole new genre out there, and that's new country,” said Jim Earley, corporate general manager for club owner Ala Carte Entertainment. “And there's a crowd out there that would never go to the Cadillac Ranch with the couples dancing and older music.”
The new venue, expected to open in late April, will have more seating and host live, new country music every Friday, Earley said. Cadillac Ranch also hosted live music, but not nearly as regularly as is planned for the new venue, he said.
Ala Carte is asking patrons to come up with a name for the new venue. People wishing to suggest a name can post their ideas on Twitter or Facebook with the hashtag #pickourname. The person who comes up with the winning name will get a trip for two to Nashville for the Country Music Association Music Festival in June.
Along with the added seating, Earley says the venue will open with a new roof, redone floor and remodeled interior.
Just like the Cadillac Ranch, the new place will be open Thursday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Earley said the Cadillac Ranch broke an attendance record for the club on its final night March 26.
“People were lined up outside and it was one-in, one-out,” he said.
The new venue will continue serving Moretti's food, and there will be a room for private events and parties.
