Batavia Women in Business raises $3,305 for Batavia Access Toy Drive and Batavia United Way Adopt-A-Family

The Batavia Women in Business Council, a subgroup of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce, recently held their annual holiday networking luncheon at Enticing Cuisine Banquets, 1117 N. Washington Ave. in Batavia.

The festive affair was highlighted by a large raffle to benefit two Batavia holiday programs, the Batavia Access Toy Drive and the Batavia United Way Adopt-A-Family.

This year, the group was thrilled to double the dollars raised from a year ago, giving $3,305 equally to the two programs.

Additionally, many toys were collected for the toy drive, which were picked up and delivered to the toy drive distribution center by members of the Batavia Fire Department.

The Batavia United Way, in collaboration with the Batavia Public Schools, organizes the annual Adopt-A-Family program. School staff identify families in need and help those families create wish lists which are then sent to Batavia United Way. In 2021, more than 80 sponsors adopted 145 families, including over 275 kids and provided thousands of dollars in holiday cheer to struggling families.

The Batavia Rotary Club helps organization the popular Batavia Access Toy Drive, which benefits Batavia children ages 1 month to 16 years old.
