Rittal wins award for enclosure cooling units

SCHAUMBURG - Rittal Corp. won the 2015 Breakthrough Products of the Year award from Processing magazine for its Blue e+ Cooling Unit Series for enclosures, which can save up to 75 percent of the energy costs associated with traditional enclosure climate control.

The Breakthrough Products of the Year award recognizes products, technologies and services that have made significant contributions to the process industries within the last year and are expected to continue impacting the market in the future. This year, Processing honored 11 engineering-driven equipment and instrumentation suppliers from the process industries.

"The key to our patented Blue e+ air conditioning technology is saving energy by exploiting passive cooling," said Eric Corzine, Rittal's product manager - Climate Control. "This hybrid cooling process combines a compressor cooling device with a heat pipe to achieve groundbreaking climate control. In fact, we're the only company in the industry using this technology to protect electronics from overheating while reducing energy costs and usage."

By reducing energy consumption, the Blue e+ units are helping manufacturers and data centers in the IT and industrial markets better control their operating costs and reduce their total cost of ownership. In addition to their exceptional efficiency, the units offer a range of powerful features that provide longer component life, flexibility and ease of use.
