Artists and vendors to be featured at Cottages in the Woods Oct. 19-20
Come out to a wooded wonderland dressed in autumn splendor where gnomes and fairies hide out with dozens of talented artists and vendors
Tour the tiny Scandinavian cottages at the 11th annual "Cottages in the Woods" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20, in the historic Good Templar Park, 528 Eastside Drive in Geneva.
The Illinois Norsk Rosemalers's cottage will be brimming with rosemaling treasures!
At the "Cottages in the Woods" artisans sale, there are many talented artists and craftsmen displaying and selling their unique and beautiful creations!
The cottages ("Stugas") will be open to tour, each offering a variety of delightful wares from talented artists and craftspeople. Visitors will find many items including handmade pottery, jewelry, birdhouses, vintage and collectible items, watercolor, rosemaling, and Dala maling pieces.
The Swedish bakery will feature traditional and Scandinavian baked goods, Lingonberry cider, cakes and pie, as well as coffee, hot cocoa, water and pop.
Food trucks will serving lunch both days, including Toasty Cheese serving gourmet cheese sandwiches, and Best Truckin' BBQ serving beef brisket, pulled pork or chicken, and cheeseburgers.
Visit the children's activity cottage for a Troll Scavenger Hunt, Hidden Fairies, Feed the Troll, Troll in One, and Tic-Tac Troll. Make and take a Troll night light.
There will be musicians playing throughout the park.
There will be fun for all ages. Admission is $8 or free for children under age 12.
Tours of the Viking ship replica will be offered for an $5 additional fee.

• Worked Wood Wonders with Ron Diller: Carving, lathe turning, scroll saw puzzles, pyrography, wood toy vehicles, fishing lures and crocheted animals/figures.
• Nisse Nook: All things Scandinavian from rugs to mugs
• Jule Hus Inger: Beautiful items from Scandinavia
• Carahjo's Creations Swittens: Mittens made from upcycled wool/wool blend sweaters, each pair from four different sweaters so each pair is unique, and all machine washable.
• Spa and soy candles, reflexology
• Altered Artikels: Reclaimed and reused rustic, vintage and shabby beautiful items.
