Lake in the Hills to recognize businesses for service

Lake in the Hills will recognize businesses with the 2015 Gordon Larsen Business Achievement Awards during Thursday night's village board meeting.

The Gordon Larsen Business Achievement Awards are a long-standing tradition named after a village resident who was influential in shaping the town's physical and civic landscape. Larsen believed in philanthropic businesses whose success was attributable to exemplary service to employees, customers and the community, officials said.

In 2014, awards were given out in three categories for excellence in community service, customer service and being the employer of choice.

Village President Paul Mulcahy will speak about the awards program and about each of the three winning businesses at the board meeting, which begins 7:30 p.m. at village hall, 600 Harvest Gate.
