Easter tradition continues with Handel's 'Hallelujah Chorus' April 1

The majestic "Hallelujah Chorus" from George Frideric Handel's Messiah, sung by the 150-voice combined choirs of Elgin's Northwest Bible Baptist Church and its Providence Baptist College, will open the church's evening service at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 1.

This popular Easter night's choral performance is an annual tradition at Northwest, with this year's occasion celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The performance is free, and everyone is invited to this event in commemoration of the miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ, the real Messiah.

This Easter special will take place in the auditorium of the church, located at 9N889 Nesler Road in the rural, far west side of Elgin. The church's pastor of 36 years is the Rev. Keith Gomez.
