7th heaven, Hi Infidelity among Geneva Commons summer concert lineup

While the weather isn't quite sure if it wants to be spring or late fall, Geneva Commons is plowing straight ahead to summer.

A few days ago, the mall along the Randall Road corridor announced the lineup for its popular summer concert series.

The 15th annual series begins Sunday, June 4, with an appearance by fan favorites Hi Infidelity. The band will be playing favorites from the '80s through today, including songs by Bon Jovi, Journey and Bruno Mars.

Next up will be Majors Junction, which will take the stage Wednesday, June 7.

In addition to the usual Sunday and Wednesday concerts, the outdoor mall is adding Friday night shows as well, starting with the Neverly Brothers Friday, June 9.

To get you rocking out, the Hillbilly Rockstarz will perform Sunday, June 11.

There will be a performance by the Geneva Jazz Ensemble Wednesday, June 14. The 18-piece jazz orchestra "celebrates the best of the big band tradition," according to a release from Geneva Commons.

Ear Candy will take the stage for a Friday night performance June 16.

Another favorite, Keith Semple, who appeared on "The Voice" in 2015, will take the stage Sunday, June 18.

Wild Daisy will perform Wednesday, June 21, followed by Davenport Project June 23.

Chicagoland favorite 7th heaven will perform Sunday, June 25, and are sure to attract a crowd from all over the Fox Valley and beyond.

The Geneva Summer Concert Series will close Wednesday, June 28, with a performance by Recycle The Day.

The Wednesday and Friday concerts run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Sunday shows will be from 5-7 p.m. Concerts are free.

Many bring lawn chairs and blankets and make a night of it. Visitors also can bring a picnic or food to snack on; however, restaurants throughout Geneva Commons will be offering special food deals on concert nights.

Shred fest:

To help protect your identity as you're getting rid of old papers and files, the Algonquin Commons mall along the Randall Road corridor is hosting a Shred Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3.

While there is something satisfying about seeing those old papers you no longer need shredded to bits before your eyes, don't go overboard as you're cleaning out your office.

The mall will take two file-sized boxes for shredding per car. If you want more, you will have to bring two cars along to get the job done.
