Bulls get OK from league for three weeks of offseason training
The NBA and its players association announced a summer training plan for teams like the Bulls that were left out of the Orlando bubble. It will start with individual workouts from Sept. 14-20 at the team practice facilities.
The second phase from Sept. 21 to Oct. 6 can include group training, full practices and intrasquad scrimmages. The plan includes daily testing as well as private living arrangements for all players and team personnel.
Participation is voluntary. Teams can include up to five players from their G-League team, in addition to the two-way players. It remains to be seen if the Bulls will have a new head coach in place by the start of camp. Their assistant coaches remain on the job for now.
There was originally some talk about a second bubble in Chicago, featuring all eight teams not invited to Orlando, with games between the teams. But that idea lost steam and was replaced by individual team camps.
