Makray Memorial Golf Club is pleased to announce that they have been selected as a 2023 winner of The Knot Best of Weddings. This is an annual award that recognizes the top wedding vendors across the country. This accolade represents the highest- and most-rated wedding professionals reviewed by real couples, their families and wedding guests on The Knot, a leading all in one wedding planning destination. This is the 11th year Makray Memorial Golf Club has been named a winner of The Knot Best of Weddings awards.
Makray Memorial Golf Club is a golf club wedding venue situated in Barrington. Paul Makray Sr., started a public golf course in 1962, called Thunderbird. His vision was to create a joyous and family-friendly golfing experience without the exclusion of membership. Nearly 10 years after his passing in 1999, his family decided to honor him by drastically remodeling and revamping the course and clubhouse in June 2002. Nearly three years later, Makray Memorial Golf Club was officially opened and became what it is today. Makray Memorial Golf Club is a premier 18-hole championship caliber public course boasting a stately ballroom that has floor to ceiling windows peering out over the course with a wrap-around stone veranda patio. Whether you're envisioning an outdoor ceremony or an extravagant ballroom reception, this property can provide the setting to the day you've always dreamed of.
