Libertyville businesses granted $170,000

Libertyville businesses affected by the pandemic have received $170,000 through the village's High Five grant program. Grants were awarded in two stages to help offset extraordinary coronavirus-related expenses. In the initial round of applications, 92 businesses received $1,000. Seventy-eight of those businesses qualified for another $1,000 in the second disbursement. The program was funded by the village through the federal American Rescue Plan Act to reimburse businesses for expenses not previously reimbursed by other forgivable loan programs or pandemic-related grants. Priority was given to women or minority-owned businesses with walk-in traffic in commercial zoning districts.
