Aurora restaurant to be sold after 50 years

AURORA - LaCabana Mexican Cafe, 835 S. River St. in Aurora, announced on its Facebook page Thursday that the business will be sold after 50 years.

The restaurant closed in January after the death of owner Steve Hernandez.

"It is with mixed emotions that we formally announce the closure of our family restaurant after 50 years of serving the city of Aurora and its surrounding communities.," a post signed by the Hernandez family said. "Making the decision to close our restaurant was not easy, but we feel it is the right one for our family at this time. ... We have decided to put the property up for sale, as we are no longer able to keep the business moving forward."
