Urawa Reds beat FC Seoul 1-0 in Asian Champions League

SAITAMA, Japan (AP) - Tomoya Ugajin scored the only goal as Urawa Reds beat FC Seoul 1-0 Wednesday in the round of 16 in the Asian Champions League.

Ugajin beat Seoul goalkeeper Yu Sang-hun with a left-footed volley in the 14th minute to give the Japanese side a slim advantage for the away leg next week in Seoul.

FC Seoul pushed for an equalizer in the second half. Osmar Barba shot over the crossbar midway through and Adriano had a chance with two minutes left but shot straight at Urawa 'keeper Shusaku Nishikawa.

Diego Tardelli scored an equalizer in the 56th minute, helping Chinese club Shandong Luneng to a 1-1 draw with Sydney FC.

David Carney opened the scoring on a header in the 15th for the visitors.

"It's good to get the away goal," Carney said. "Hopefully we'll get a good crowd in Sydney now and go on and win it."

Midfielder Mohammadreza Abbasi scored the equalizer on a header in the 76th to give Iran's Zobahan a 1-1 away draw at the United Arab Emirates' Al Ain. Douglas Dyanfres had given the home side the lead in the ninth minute.

Second-leg matches will be played next Tuesday and Wednesday.
