Gallery Theater to hold auditions in March for Neil Simon play

Gallery Theater will hold auditions for Neil Simon's "Chapter Two" at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 18, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 22. Auditions will be at Gallery 200/STUDIO, 203 Turner Court, West Chicago.

Appointments are not required to audition. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, with monologues optional. There is no compensation for the performance.

For information, email gallerytheater@gmail.com or call (630) 639-0954.

The production runs May 11-13.

The cast will consist of two men and two women who enjoy the unique comedic timing of Neil Simon.

"Chapter Two" interweaves the lives of four people: George Schneider, who aches for his departed wife and is willing to live the rest of his life as a semi-recluse; Jennie Malone, a recently divorced actress who uses bravado to masquerade her frailty; Leo Schneider, George's arrogant brother; and Faye Medwick, Jennie's quirky, somewhat desperate, but caring best friend.

Gallery200/STUDIO, the venue for Gallery Theater, is a cultural initiative supported by the City of West Chicago and the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission, and is one more reason West Chicago was named an Illinois Arts Friendly Community in 2007.
