Flooding worries Fox Lake officials
Fox Lake Emergency Services Disaster Agency Director Annette Wolf wore a look of concern as she stepped out of the police Hummer after touring the flooded Knollwood Park subdivision.
About 100 homes there already have damage, and the worst is yet to come, Wolf said.
“We’re definitely concerned,” she said. “I don’t know if it’s nerves as much as concern at this point.”
Homes in Eagle Point and Kings Island subdivisions — along with dwellings near the water on Atwater and Lakeside lanes — also suffered some flood damage, she said.
Wolf also acknowledged that with water levels forecast to rise to five-feet over flood stage in New Munster, Wis., water in the Chain O’ Lakes will continue to rise.
“All we can do at this point is continue getting the sandbags out and help the residents when they need it,” she said. “We’ll do what we can.”
